The Kona Coast: Easy access and various locations provide the perfect backdrop for beautiful surf. Whether you are a beginner looking for an easy and forgiving break or a seasoned surfer looking for a challenge.

The Kona Coat is home to a variety of breaks to suit your needs and skill level. Surf in Town and take advantage of everything the Kona Coast has to offer.

   Ku'emanu Heiau: The Only known Heiau dedicated to surfing is located at Kahau'u Beach Park.

The Kohala Coast:

Famous for it's rugged coast line and hard to reach, remote beaches and surf spots. HLSI Team of Instructors can give you the inside perspective of local surfing. Experience true Hawaiian surfing over Hawaiian Reef along the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. Most locations along the Kohala Coast require 4x4 off road vehicles to access such remote locations, HLSI has the perfect Team Truck to get you and your equipment there. All you have to worry about is your stamina. With the perfect location and conditions you will never want to leave. Let the HLSI Team lead you to the perfect surfing destination.

Exclusive/Private guides are not limited to a single location, and are often numerous spots depending on your lesson duration and surfing conditions.

Your instructors provide a more advanced course- depending on your skill level, and cater directly to your surfing ability at more private areas and local surfing spots, in comparison to our everyday lessons. All equipment and surf gear are provided and transported for you. Hard Board Rentals are available for an additional fee.
