Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors (H.L.S.I.) is committed to perpetuating the heritage of surfing and the Hawaiian culture with aloha and a safety first attitude.
As Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors (HLSI), we live and work amidst of the ocean sports environment. HLSI surf lessons and coaching programs were born through our passion for the sport and experience in ocean safety. We promote surfing, lifesaving, training, observation skills, and above all, a safety-first attitude.
On that foundation (awareness in water safety), HLSI promotes the skills necessary to learn and progress in the sport of surfing. Your instructor will have a minimum of 15 years experience surfing and holds a current certification with the American Red Cross in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and Ocean Water Rescue.©

south of HLSI HQ.

Off of HWY 11 in KAILUA-KONA locate
PALANI Rd.
Turn DOWN onto PALANI Road and continue
onto ALI'I DRIVE.
*ALI"I DR. is the highway along the Kona Coast.
Follow ALI'I DR. for 1 miles SOUTH until you
see the oceanfront hotel- "Royal Kona Resort"
Continue on for .1 miles until you reach the
"Kona Reef" Hotel
Continue on for 1 block until you reach the
pedestrian cross walk ing zone.
Turn left at the cross walk zone through the orange gates into the free public beach parking lot just across the street from Honls- Ali'i Cove Beach
Surf Lessons Hawaii is located adjacent to the parking lot. Look for our yellow sign and red flags.
